b.Alert TPMS tyre management
New and advanced smart technology
Maintaining all tyres at correct pressure is one of the most important goals but temperatures and pressures vary greatly based on the weather, time of day and whether the vehicle is parked or driving. Smart analysis adjusts for these variations so the system highlights tyres with a real need of re-inflation and reduces false alerts.Predicting tyre wear is another area where smart algorithms can improve on basic methods of scheduling inspection maintenance intervals, looking at not just mileage but adjusting for average journey length, braking and road surfaces.
Tyre pressure maintenance for ROI and safety
Most important to optimise fuel economy and tyre life is to maintain your tyres at the correct pressures: if tyres are 10psi under-inflated, wear goes up around 10% and fuel consumption around 1%. Under-inflated tyres are also dangerous due to excessive shear stress in the tire shoulder and heat build-up from sidewall bending. Low tyre pressure affects handling, stability, breaking effectiveness and can lead to a dangerous tyre failure during use.Real time incident alarms
b.Alert warns you and can also warn the driver with an urgent alarm when it looks like there is a problem with a tyre or wheel. This warning before the event gives you an opportunity to take preventative action and avoid a potentially dangerous and expensive tyre failure during service.Working lists
How is it possible to keep all of your tyres at the correct pressure? Everybody knows this is a huge job.The worklist gives you a list of tyres defined by vehicle/trailer and their wheel position. You are able to promptly inflate only the tyres which need it and waste no time on those that do not.
The worklist can be sent every evening, every Saturday, every time the truck passes through the depot etc.
Alarms
Alarms (email or text or communication with onboard computer) can be sent to office or depot staff or drivers based on a number of dangerous situations: too high pressure or temperature, excessively low pressure, suspicious variations on the same vehicle or trailer etc.Hardware
b.Alert TPMS consists of a main unit and sensors on each wheel. The main unit is installed on the chassis of the vehicle or trailer and communicates with the sensors and the server. If the unit is on the tractor, the tyres of both tractor and trailer can be monitored by it and vice versa if the unit is installed on the trailer. Changes in tractor/trailer combinations are registered automatically.
